2021 Goals and Resolution

2021 has arrived, and with it, my new year’s resolutions. I wanted to focus on both the little and the big things this year, like printing more family photos to getting yoga teacher certified. I think it’s important to have a range of goals, so it doesn’t seem so daunting.

Prioritize individual relationships with each member of my family

Each of my children are so different! Hunter is strong-willed and decisive, Miles is eccentric and kind-hearted, and Sailor is mindful and empathetic. I think it is so essential to make each of my children feel loved individually! This year I want to dedicate more time to each kid by helping them find what makes them happy and being a part of it.

I also want to spend more time with Brian; whether this means a 15-minute hot tub in the morning with a cup of coffee to express our dreams, to date nights in having dinner and watching a movie, just the two of us. I think 2020 made it difficult for couples to go on dates and have alone time, so finding time for that is a priority of mine.

Lead a healthy lifestyle

In 2021 I want to focus on leading a healthy lifestyle, from the way I eat to how I move my body. I would love to do teacher training to get yoga teacher certified. I believe that yoga is not only an excellent exercise for the body but also the mind. Yoga has always been my favorite way for me to feel grounded and connect with my body. I would love to lead my friends and family through a yoga class and share with them something I am compassionate about.

Family Dinners

I want to be sure to have more family dinners around our dining room table! Our days are always busy; hustling around to get things done and by the end of the day we are exhausted. Most nights we will just sit around our kitchen island and eat dinner and I think taking that extra step to sit around the table and really connect and talk about our days would be such an easy way for all of us to be together and present every day.

Set Goals and Achieve Them

This year I really want to sit down and map out my goals for the year. Take the time to make a roadmap of how I will get them done and make sure I am achieving these goals! Our personal goals get lost in the chaos of everyday life; this year I want to make sure that doesn’t happen. It’s one thing to have big goals and another to see them through.

Staying Connecting

I grew up in Minnesota and my parents and siblings still live there. This year I want to be sure to make time to connect with my family that lives far away. It can be so easy to get disconnected from people you don’t see often so making that extra effort even if it’s just calling my mom three times a week or so.

Every year I ask each member of my family what their GOALS are for the year….I created a print out sheet for each of us to fill out. We do this together, at the same time and then we go around the room and share our thoughts on what we want to work on and accomplish. I attached the sheet below so all of you can fill one out yourself! xo, Chantelle.
